HLA typing has been traditionally associated with matching in transplantation to help avoid complications such as rejection episodes. It has also been shown that the immunological response to many diseases can also be associated to a specific HLA type. This has become increasingly important when characterising patient cohorts and sub groups within the clinical trial setting.

MCD are HLA experts, we have designed, developed and manufactured an HLA SSO typing system which is commercially available via our partner BAG Health Care. We understand both the knowledge required and the expenditure needed to set up an in-house HLA typing platform. That is why we believe it is better to outsource your HLA typing needs to our fast, reliable, cost effective service.

Single locus or full HLA typing available: Class I (HLA-A, -B & -C), Class II (HLA-DRB1, -DRB3/4/5, -DQA1, -DQB1, -DPA1 & -DPB1).

Small sample required: 675ng genomic DNA for a full 9 loci HLA type. .

Medium resolution typing: Suitable for most applications, a 4 digit HLA result containing a single Common (C) allele(1) within a string of other HLA alleles and no 1st field ambiguities.

High resolution typing: Increased 4 digit resolution using additional probes combined with a software filter to analyse common and well documented (CWD) alleles(1).

Turnaround time: Typically, 15 working days for a full HLA type on 96 samples. Faster turnaround may be available on request.
